How many words do you know?

If children don’t know enough words, they can find it hard to learn at school.

Here are some quick ideas to help your child learn new words.

1. When you are with your child, talk to them about what you are doing and what you can see.
2. Grab a book and talk about everything that is on the page.
3. Make up your own stories about the pictures.
4. Play with your child and think out loud. Board games are still a great idea!
5. When you hear less common words on the TV, take time to explain what they mean.
