Letter from the Principal
Dear Families
We have had such a busy term with many fantastic learning experiences happening in the classroom along with lots of opportunities to represent the school in sporting events.
This week teachers are working at Lindisfarne North Primary as part of our annual moderation exercise – this is an opportunity for teachers to work with teachers from other schools to compare student work so we improve how we conduct our assessments. In the next few weeks, you will receive Evidences of Learning focusing on mathematics and English – this is part of our commitment to report on your child’s progress with their learning.
Teachers have been working hard in their year level teams to create engaging learning experiences for the students at the school and it will be wonderful to share the progress they have made so far.
Students have also been involved with lots of exciting sporting events such as cross-country and Winter Sports. I received some wonderful feedback about our students from staff and community members who attended the recent Inter-School Cross Country at Bayview. Congratulations to our students who represented themselves and our school with sportsmanship and respect. We have also seen the basketball courts continue to be a favourite space for our Upper Primary students and of course the bike track has been a really popular area during lunch time play.
We continue to work hard on our Ready, Respectful and Safe approach at Austins Ferry and it is great to see so many students able to explain and demonstrate their understanding through their dealings with staff and students at the school.
Our staff are looking forward to meeting with families directly during Parent-Teacher interviews which will be happening in Week 9.
