Welcome Back to 2023, and an especially warm welcome to those students new to our school. Classrooms are reading for learning and teachers are excited about our school priority in 2023 – Reading!

I would like to start by taking this opportunity to thank Tim Nicholas for strong leadership during his time at Austins Ferry Primary School, and congratulate him in his new role as principal at Montrose Bay High School. Our communities are closely linked and his appointment presents another strong connection with our feeder High School.

The process for seeking a new school principal is underway, with the role advertised this week. We will keep you updated as the process progresses, but in the meantime, it is business as usual.

Underlying this is our responsibility to live our school values; in how we conduct ourselves, make decisions and run our day-to-day business across the school. This holds true for all members of our school community – staff, students, parents, and carers.

A warm welcome to our new staff – Daisy Spaulding – Kinder, Abby Cochrane – Year 3-4, Ellie Kearns – Year 5/6 and Rachel Blair – English as an Additional Language.
