Last week I made the difficult decision to accept a new challenge as Principal at Montrose Bay High School. I was approached by the Department to sound out my interest and whilst a move was not on my radar, I felt my skill set would support MBHS. I will still be connected with our community and students in the new role. The last 4.5 years at AFPS has been a very positive experience for myself. I have grown as a leader and will be forever thankful for the connections and relationships made with staff, students, parents and the wider community.
I feel very lucky to have been able to support the improvement journey at AFPS since my arrival in 2018. We are so lucky as a school to have amazing facilities and staff that go above and beyond to support students and families. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at AFPS and have found the decision to leave a very difficult one, however I am very happy I am still able to support our community at a different site.
Following my departure at the end of this year, Nikki Mann, our current Assistant Principal, will step into the Principal role for the beginning of 2023. Nikki is highly credentialed and will do a fantastic job.
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has supported me since I arrived at AFPS. I will certainly miss the school and people connected with it. My final official engagement with AFPS will be at our Leavers Assembly today to farewell our Year 6 students, who I will follow the majority to MBHS, which is a fantastic transition for us as a group.
